7 Days in Bhutan

Itinerary

7 Days in Bhutan

The classic western Bhutan circuit: Paro, Thimphu and Punakha, with the Tiger's Nest and a festival if your dates match.

7 days

How the days flow

Seven days is the most popular length, and for good reason. You get three valleys, real rest days and enough time for the culture to sink in rather than flash past.

It is also the length that works best for festivals. If your dates fall near a tshechu, we build a festival morning into the plan.

  1. Day 1

Arrive in Paro, Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum.

  2. Day 2

Tiger's Nest walk in the morning quiet, afternoon at rest.

  3. Day 3

Drive to Thimphu, Buddha Dordenma, weaving studio and craft market.

  4. Day 4

Thimphu dzong, art school, then over Dochula to Punakha.

  5. Day 5

Punakha Dzong, suspension bridge, farm lunch by the river.

  6. Day 6

Easy chorten walk, optional rafting, return to Paro.

  7. Day 7

    Departure from Paro.
